Snow Guard Layout Request Form

Use this form to receive a Job Specific Recommendation for your snow retention project. Your recommended layout for a snow guard system will be based on the information provided. We request that you provide us with the Ground Snow Load (Pg) for the project and other roof information listed. If you do not have the ground snow load we will try to estimate to the best of our ability. We cannot estimate areas that are designated as CS (Case Studies), typically mountainous areas. If we do have a Ground Snow Load for a CS area, we will use it as an estimate but it is up to us to verify all information used in our calculations.

Some of the information needed for a Recommended Layout:

Snow Load - The Ground Snow Load is necessary for all recommended layouts, this information is generally available from your local building office or from the building plans. We can try to estimate but it is your responsibility to verify this information.

Upper Roofs - if upper roofs are dumping snown onto lower roofs this must be considered in the recommended layout. Use the comment field at the bottom of this form to provide more information.
Drifing or Icing Conditions - if drifting or icing have been experienced on this roof or is expected, this must be considered for the recommended layout. You may need to contact an engineer to find this informaion.
Existing Snow Guards - let us know if there are existing snow guards or if this is an new installation. Use the comment field below to let us knwo if you are replacing the existing snow guards or adding to them.

Please supply as much information as possible so we can provide you with a timely and correct, recommended layout. For pipe-style snow guards we need the height and width of the slate for the base plates.

For Existing Slate Roofs we need the slate width, height, thickness and overlap or exposure.

For Tile Roofs we need the manufacturer and model or the width,height and thickness. Some tile models come in different lengths, please specify the length.
